Job Description

PRO-Telligent, A Tetra Tech Company, urgently needs a Mechanical Inspector for State Dept. construction project with Secret Clearance or higher needed urgently for 6 Acre US Embassy Compound Expansion and Renovation in Nairobi, Kenya with bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) starting in June/July. 

The Project

  • 6 Acre Compound – US Embassy Expansion and Renovation
    • New Office Annex (NOX) and Support Annex (SPX)
    • Service Compound Access Control (SCAC)
    • Marine Security Guard Residence (MSGR)
    • (NOX) Expansion and Partial Renovation
    • Utility Building (UTL), Parking Structure (PKG)
    • Partial Chancery and USAID Renovations
  • Project Duration is 48 months / we ask for a minimum commitment of 1 year.

  • Housing and transportation allowances provided.

  • Uplift includes 20% of base salary as well as 10% COLA
  • Full benefits included (medical, dental, vision, 30 days paid time off a year, paid round trip flights home every 10 months on assignment)
  • This is an unaccompanied position (meaning we prefer you do not bring anyone with you) 

Position Description 

  • Provide expansion project with full range of critical engineering, construction quality assurance, and technical oversight.
  • Perform technical inspections of mechanical work, monitor construction contractor's quality control program, and review project drawings to ensure compliance.
  • Observe onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.

Job Requirements


  • Secret Clearance or higher
  • 10 years construction experience
  • Associate’s degree or higher
