  • Executes established controls to ensure data integrity and accuracy of employee payroll data.
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of payroll in accordance to legal requirements and company policies.
  • Audits and loads time data from OTL (Oracle Time and Labor) or other sources such as Excel spreadsheet. 
  • Understands the flow of data from HR, OTL through to general ledger.
  • Processes manual check requests in accordance to legal and business units’ requirements and company policies. 
  • Performs special payroll related calculations such as retroactive payments, time off accruals, etc. 
  • Develops and maintains excellent working relationships and communication with business unit HR and payroll contacts.
  • Inputs and maintains payroll data such as direct deposit, garnishments, bonuses etc. 
  • Reviews and coordinate payroll processing calendar/schedules. 
  • Audits pre and post payroll process. 
  • Exercises good judgment in the application and interpretation of company policies, union contracts and legal regulations as they relate to payroll.
  • Responds to HR staff and employees regarding payroll matters. 
  • May assist in the review and input of federal and state W4 data and local tax withholding set up. 
  • Creates and maintains excel reports. 
  • May perform general ledger analysis related to payroll accounts. 
  • Data analysis and testing of new extensions

Job Requirements

Experience Requirements:

  • Knowledge of computerized payroll systems
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations such as federal and state wage and hour laws, and tax laws.
  • Must be able to perform basic to moderate math calculations.
  • Must have the ability to perform detail analysis.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to research, analyze and resolve payroll related issues and to maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
  • Versed in the use of a PC and related application such as Windows, Excel and Word. 

Skills Requirements:

Knowledge of computerized payroll systems, preferably PayForce, ADP Reporting, Pay@work
Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills
Excel and Oracle Time and Labor

Degree Requirements:

AA preferred, not required
