Job Description

Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a part-time UXO Quality Control Specialist (UXOQCS) for our Helena, MT operations, working at a client site in Townsend, MT.

The selected candidate’s responsibilities will include performing all UXO Technicians tasks as well as:

(a) Perform the functions of a UXO TIII.

(b) Develop and, upon approval, implement the project’s quality control (QC) plan for MEC-related activities per applicable requirements.

(c) Conduct and document QC audits of MEC-related activities for compliance with applicable requirements.

(d) Identify, document, report and ensure completion of corrective actions to ensure MEC-related activities comply with applicable requirements.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate must meet the minimum Qualifications set forth for a UXOQCS in accordance with the current Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) Technical Paper (TP)-18 Minimum Qualifications for Personnel Conducting MEC related activities.

UXOQCS must have either:
a. Successfully completed training as a quality professional (i.e., International Standards Organization 9001 internal auditor, American Society of Quality Certified quality auditor);
b. Possess a quality-professional certification by a recognized organization; or
c. Receive company- and project-specific QC training and work under the supervision of a certified quality professional.

Additional expectations:
• Experience using Trimble Survey equipment
• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word required
• GIS experience preferred
• You must have a demonstrated understanding of QC and QA practices associated with MEC-related activities and managing and processing MPPEH, including documentation of its explosives safety status.
• All UXO personnel are required to be U.S. citizens.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must have OSHA 40-hour training in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and be in the medical monitoring program prior to starting on-site work.
• Field work can be conducted in difficult terrain. You must be able to climb up and down steep slopes and work in all types of weather conditions, including heat and cold, and be able to lift instruments and equipment up to 70 pounds
• This position requires you to drive on a regular basis and will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check. A valid current driver’s license to travel to and from job sites is required.
