Job Description
Ōnin Staffing is looking for a skilled and dependable Production Painter to support a top-tier manufacturing operation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse, hardworking team and play a key role in the production process by delivering high-quality painted components.
Responsibilities:
- Paint production parts to precise specifications using electrostatic and traditional paint guns
- Accept only properly prepared parts for painting
- Manually move parts through painting, flashing, and drying areas
- Mix paints and solvents according to manufacturer specifications
- Operate automated mixing equipment
- Ensure proper drying time and finish quality through inspection and rework as needed
- Clean and flush paint/solvent delivery systems regularly
- Coordinate maintenance for all paint system equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the paint area
- Assist with various tasks along the paint line as required
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable performing strenuous, repetitive tasks
- Must wear a respirator and protective clothing; must pass pulmonary function and fit tests
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
- Able to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility

Work Experience
🧠 Essential Skills & Experience Required:
- Painting Equipment Experience:
- Use of GRACO Pro Mix System & pressurized paint pots (a plus).
- Application Techniques:
- Proficient with electrostatic & traditional paint guns (cup gun, etc.).
- Can paint various part sizes and shapes using industrial techniques.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Disassembly, reassembly, cleaning & maintenance of guns and equipment.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and paint in booth for up to 9 hours.
- Surface Preparation:
- Prepping metal, sanding/scuffing defective parts.
- Work History:
- 1+ years painting fabricated parts.
- Preferred backgrounds: Altec, Fontaine, Gorbel, Army Depot, etc.
- Ownership & Maintenance:
- Maintain paint booth: flush guns, clean area, replace filters, etc.
- Inspection Skills:
- Able to inspect and correct work.
- Knowledge of mil thickness and hatch test for adhesion.
💡 Additional Qualifications (Plus):
- Steel shot blasting
- Masking, sanding, touch-up painting
- Forklift & powered pallet jack operation/certification
- Warehouse experience: inventory, labeling, shipping
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc.
