Job Description
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Monitor inventory transactions within plant’s sub-inventories, including offsite warehouse locations or outside processing operations
• Analyze and publish daily production, scrap, inventory valuation and negative inventory reports
• Review bill of materials (BOMs) for accuracy, coordinating engineering change requests as appropriate
• Resolve inventory discrepancies by working directly with production operations, material control and planning teams to determine root cause and permanent, corrective countermeasures
• Reconcile steel coils through monitoring of receipts, material consumption, and scrap transactions to coil weights
• Coordinate cycle counting per prescribed frequency
• Perform approved inventory adjustments within ERP database
• Ensure compliance of company inventory control policies by conducting periodic internal audits of receiving, shipping, production, and scrap processes against written procedures
• Work both collaboratively and independently to identify and recommend improvements that increase inventory accuracy and reduce carrying costs
• Prepare monthly journal entries and other month end close responsibilities
• Assist Plant Controller with annual physical inventory
• Perform other duties as assigned
Work Experience
WHAT YOU NEED:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
• 1+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent analytical and problem identification/solving skills
• Proficiency using MS Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and subject matter experts
