Job Description

Overview:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Receiving and processing incoming supplies and products. 

    • Stocking, cataloging, and organizing inventory within the storage area. 

    • Performing regular inventory audits and reconciling discrepancies. 

    • Maintaining accurate inventory records. 

  • Logistics & Shipping:
    • Coordinating and tracking inbound and outbound shipments. 

    • Preparing shipping documents, labels, and necessary paperwork. 

    • Communicating with carriers, vendors, and customers regarding shipment status. 

    • Resolving any shipment or inventory discrepancies. 

  • Reporting & Coordination:
    • Preparing reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies. 

    • Coordinating with other departments to ensure timely delivery of products. 

  • Quality Control:
    • Performing quality checks on stored inventory. 

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is typically required. 

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory software and Microsoft Excel. 

  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

    • Good time management and organizational abilities. 

    • Ability to multitask effectively. 

  • Physical Ability: The ability to lift and move moderately heavy items may be necessary. 

Career Progression 

  • This role serves as an entry point into the logistics and supply chain field.
  • With experience and additional training, inventory clerks can advance to positions like Inventory Control Specialist, Warehouse Supervisor, or Logistics Coordinator.
