Job Description

Overview:

The Quality Control Officer ensures that all food products meet established safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting inspections and tests, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions to maintain product integrity and compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical testing of products as required.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO, or other relevant standards).

  • Maintain accurate quality records, test reports, and documentation for audits and traceability.

  • Identify quality issues and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Train and guide production staff on hygiene, quality, and food safety protocols.

  • Assist in internal and external audits by regulatory bodies and certification agencies.

  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.

  • Monitor sanitation practices and workplace hygiene to minimize contamination risks.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for quality and food safety.

Skills and Experience:

Prior experience in quality control or assurance within the food processing industry preferred.

Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSSAI, EFSA depending on region).

Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, or BRC standards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and basic data recording software
