The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role plays a key part in promoting a safety-first culture by conducting training, performing inspections, enforcing safety policies, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety programs, procedures, and training materials
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards

  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, and local safety regulations

  • Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and safety-related documentation

  • Coordinate and deliver safety training for new hires and current employees, including forklift certifications, PPE use, emergency response, and hazard communication

  • Act as a point of contact for all safety-related concerns and assist in resolving safety issues raised by employees

  • Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support return-to-work programs and workers’ compensation processes when necessary

  • Promote a culture of safety and awareness through communication, recognition programs, and consistent follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial setting

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to train and influence employees at all levels

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic safety software/systems

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus


Work Environment:


This position involves both office and active worksite presence. May require standing, walking, climbing ladders, and exposure to loud or hazardous environments.



Work Experience

- Experience in training coordination

- Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Power Point

- Bi-lingual proficiency

- Experience in team environments

- Experience in Operations departments

- Forklift certified
