🔧 Job Opportunity: Tool and Die Setter
🕒 Full-Time | 1st & 2nd Shift Available
💵 Starting at $18.87/hour — higher pay based on experience
Are you a skilled professional with a passion for precision and safety? We're seeking an experienced Tool and Die Setter to join our high-performing manufacturing team and help drive quality in our metal stamping and forming operations.
What You’ll Do:
As a Tool and Die Setter, you’ll be responsible for the proper setup, handling, and maintenance of stamping dies to ensure efficient and safe production. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform complete die setups on all press lines, including tandem, progressive, and transfer lines (coil setting included).
- Safely operate overhead tooling cranes and independently flip dies with a spotter.
- Accurately install new dies and assess or direct necessary modifications for alignment and guiding.
- Maintain and organize essential setup tools and equipment (e.g., steel rules, T bolts, QDC pins).
- Ensure all die bolsters and T-slots are clean and free of debris (scrap, oil, slugs).
- Serve as the die labeling lead, making sure all dies are correctly identified (J#, flow direction, pin locations, etc.).
- Support maintenance, tooling, and contractors during equipment installs and technical projects.
- Lead and participate in training efforts, including becoming a certified crane trainer.
- Follow all work instructions to maintain compliance with TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in die setting within a stamping or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of crane safety and a clean safety record (no crane-related incidents).
- Ability to work independently and meet standard setup times (Tandem: 90 min, Prog/Transfer: 45 min).
- Detail-oriented and committed to high-quality workmanship.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Team-focused with sound judgment and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
