Job Description

Lift Truck Operators

Shifts Available: THIRD

ROTATING SCHEDULE

5PM-5:30AM

Pay Rate: $18.50 / hr


Our Opportunity:

Our client is cold storage, refrigerated and frozen food warehouse. We're looking for Operator's that can work in an extremely cold environment that's typically 34 degrees and freezers that are below zero!


What you'll do as a Lift Truck Operator

The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for operating forklift, pallet jack, reach trucks, stand up straddle trucks, walk behinds, high lift, sit down or stand up lift truck, Hi-lift, RC and/or other material handling equipment as part of the distribution process within a fast paced warehouse setting. The Operator will utilize equipment while performing tasks to include shipping, receiving, unloading, scanning, moving, staging, loading, locating, relocating, and stacking product.


Primary Duties:

  • Load and unload freight using equipment in an efficient and safe manner
  • Move product to storage areas with proper equipment.
  • Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate area
  • Pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped
  • Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes safety
  • Participate in physical inventories, as needed
  • Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently (equipment to include, but not limited to stand up forklifts, stand up straddle trucks, walk behinds, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks and radio frequency equipment)
  • Report all safety malfunctions on equipment
  • Comply with OSHA standards
  • Must be able to meet production standards
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment
  • Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time and ready to work assigned shift
  • Charge or change forklift battery, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned, may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed


Work Experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:


•ABILITY TO WORK IN EXTREMELY COLD ENVIRONMENTS

•Minimum of one year recent experience on a forklift with solid work history

•Lift Truck experience preferred, but willing to train qualified candidates

•Must pass basic math and matching test

•Must be flexible to work overtime and varied hours when needed

•Requires ability to work independently

•Requires the ability to pay close attention to details, meet deadlines, and work with a wide variety of individuals

•Must have strong relationship building skills

•Relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions

•Ability to perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others

•Must have your own reliable transportation


Tools and Technology:

•Computer

•Warehouse management system and related components

•Pallet Jack, high lift, sit down or stand up lift truck, Hi-lift, RC
