Job Description:
Food Technologist/ Laboratory Technician to aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations
Work Experience
Responsibilities:
Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for *** Heinz food and beverage products
Conduct bench-top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes
Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results
Perform sensory testing of prototypes
Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations
Coordinate team evaluations regularly
Submit prototypes and samples for analytical testing and compile results
Performing sample analysis after training on analytical equipment
Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information
Write progress reports
Aid in maintenance of lab equipment
Maintain and organize the laboratory and supplies
Ensure laboratory safety
Requirements:
B.S. in Food Science or a similar field and minimum 2 years of experience
Laboratory experience from B.S degree coursework or work experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good record-keeping and organization
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
