Position: Certified Nursing Assistant

Department: Nursing

Reports to: Director of Nursing

Purpose

Provide personal care services under the direction of the Director of Nursing. The CNA is assigned to specific clients and performs services for clients as necessary to maintain their comfort per the client's plan of care.

Essential Job Functions Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform personal care activities per specific client care instructions and the plan of care.
  2. Report any observed or reported changes in client's condition.
  3. Promote personal safety and a safe environment for clients.
  4. Document care provided.
  5. Communicate effectively with all staff, clients and family members.
  6. Participate in staff meetings and team conferences as requested.
  7. Attend in-service programs to meet company requirements.
  8. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, clients and family members. Must be able to work with ill, disabled and the elderly. Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication.

Education and Experience

Prefer 6 months experience in home healthcare

Licensing/Certifications

Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of Florida.
