Job Description

Meadows Behavioral Healthcare is accepting applications for a full-time therapist to join its team at Gay Men's Institute, located in Cathedral City, CA. The Therapist is responsible for coordinating and providing individual counseling, case management, group therapy, and bio-psycho-social assessment services to patients in a residential setting.  The candidate will demonstrate expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for dual diagnoses, case management, development of patient support systems, and discharge/continuing care planning. The Therapist will collaborate with the treatment team to plan and coordinate the patient's movement through the continuum of care.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology or a related field.
  • At lease three (3) years of experience in a behavioral health field.
  • Familiar with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Experience with CBT and gay affirmative therapy preferred.
  • Must be independently licensed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

What to Expect at Gay Men's Institute

Patients will reside at Gay Men's Institute with around-the-clock guidance and supervision from our clinical staff. Gay Men's Institute staff works with each patient to determine the appropriate length of residential care, but most people stay for 25 days after successful completion of detox.

Residential Schedule

Throughout their stay, patients will have a full schedule of individual and group activities all tailored to their personalized treatment plans.  This is just an example of what patients can expect during their residential treatment at Gay Men's Institute; all schedules and activities are dependent on the needs of each person.
