Job Description

 Position Summary:
Assist other engineers, including but not limited to electrical design engineer colleagues, system engineers, software engineers, project engineers, mechanical engineers and other engineering disciplines in order to meet requirements and deadlines specified by the project team.  Responsible for the design of complex military grade power supplies including the full development, analysis, documentation and support testing, systems integration and testing.  Also responsible for the PWB layout and assembly drawings addressing DFM issues.  Reviews customer specifications and requirements, and under direction assists in developing designs to best support them, including cost and schedule as a key design variable. 
  Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design military power supplies compliant to MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-461.
  • Design experience in the 1W to 1000W, both non isolated and isolated supplies. 
  • Experience in DC/DC, AC/DC and PFC designs.
  • Familiar with custom designs and if needed use of MCOTS power converter bricks such as SynQor and Vicor.
  • Develop clear documents for requirements, verification and testing of designs.
  • Provide support during the manufacturing start up builds of the designs.
  • Provide accurate cost, schedule and technical compliance updates to management for assigned programs to record project progress. 

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an electrical engineering or related technical field.  
  • Power supply design experience of 8 years or more.
  • Experience in Mentor Graphics Schematic capture.
  • Experience in PAD’s layout tools.
  • Omnify configuration tools experience is a plus.
  • Experience in effective use of simulation tools to ensure robust designs.
  • Good verbal and written communications are necessary skills for the position.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time.
  • Experience with Government EVMS contracts is a plus.
