Job Description


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the implementation of the quality policies and procedures of the company
  • Help achieve the goals and objectives of the quality department
  • Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, purchasing, and test documentation to ensure division and customer quality requirements are implemented on assigned products
  • Prepare inspection plans
  • Develop inspection and test procedures and work instructions
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to the Quality department
  • Provide technical support to suppliers, engineering, and the customer service department as needed
  • Assist in root cause identification and corrective action implementation
  • Perform quality trend analysis and prepare reports
  • Based on quality trend analysis, identify opportunities for defect-reduction and provide technical support as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals in support of contracts
  • Adhere to all AAR Composites Safety Procedures and Safety Accountabilities (Ref. SP-011)
  • Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform advanced statistical process control as needed
  • Interface with the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), customers, and suppliers on quality engineering issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements




EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in Engineering or related discipline or five years’ experience as an inspector
  • Preferred candidates will possess an ASQ Certification such as: certified Quality Inspector, or a Certification in NDI Level I, Level II in composites; A-Scan.
  • American Society for Quality Certified Mechanical Inspector a plus
  • Use inspection gauges and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Quality Systems; AS9102 First Article Inspection Conformities.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.
  • Internal Auditing experience desired, but not required.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office, including Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.
