Job Description:
This position is responsible for designing, developing and supporting the manufacture of signal processing electronics used with electro-mechanical sensors for harsh environments in highly regulated industries.  Typical daily activities include design, circuit modeling / prototyping, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data entry and manipulation, document creation, document maintenance, and supporting manufacture and delivery of a range of new and existing products.  
  • Design and development of analog and digital circuitry including schematic creation, component selection, and PCB layout for signal processing electronics with heavy emphasis on analog design
  • Work in a fast paced environment in close cooperation with Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality departments
  • Create and maintain product test reports, analyses, drawings, installation procedures, inspection procedures, test procedures, test reports, Purchase Part Specifications (PPSs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Bills of Manufacturing (BOMs)
  • Independently review and approve test data and other engineers’ documentation
  • Identify issues, problems or risks and recommend effective solutions
  • Perform product compliance testing at remote locations
  • Support project management in obtaining customer approvals and supporting customer source inspections
  • Cultivate internal and external customer relationships and effectively manage stakeholder expectations in adverse situations
  • Provide technical training to internal and external customers
  • Actively participate in inter-department process improvement projects
  • Become proficient in international engineering regulations and standards
  • Additional duties may include sales support, compliance testing in external labs and customer service.
Required Skills:
  • Electronic or Electrical (or related discipline) Engineering Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET qualified university
  • 5+ years of SPICE modelling, schematic capture and PCBA toolsets
  • 5+ years of experience doing analog design
  • 1+ year of design for EMC / EMI compliance and applicable standards (radiofrequency, electromagnetic)
  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. 


Desired Skills:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the US or Canada
  • Understanding of signal processing electronics used with Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs), thermocouples, pressure transmitters, proximity sensors, or other analog sensor designs
  • Use of microcontrollers and their programming toolsets
  • Use of programmable logic devices e.g. ASICs and FPGAs
  • Knowledge of radiation-induced phenomena in electronic circuits
  • Experience using Syteline or similar ERP system
  • Calibrating sensors, bench testing, component level troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge and experience complying with nuclear, aerospace and commercial quality systems (NQA-1, RCCE/RCCM, AS9100, IS900X, etc.)
  • Materials science
