The Quality Control Supervisor oversees and monitors the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards at USSI.She/he maintains close working relationships with other team leaders and engineering personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality and comply with regulatory requirements. He/she reports to the Production Quality Manager.  Duties and responsibilities for the position include, and are not limited to the following:
  • Provide daily direct supervision for the quality auditors in order to maintain the highest level of efficiency for the manufacturing operations.
  • Create process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with production personal.
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating auditor training to maintain high efficiencies and flexibility within the group.
  • Ensure that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase
  • Create comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken
  • Perform semi-annual employee evaluations with quality auditors to provide timely performance feedback and coaching on improvements.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Provides input into employment decisions.
  • Be able to fill-in as needed and perform inspections/audits of all production products.
  • Tracks absenteeism, timekeeping and training of auditors.
  • Educate production team on quality control issues and work with production managers to improve overall company safety and product quality
  • All staff is required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety by adhering to established safety policies and procedures, to not willfully place at risk the health or safety of any individual and to wear personal protective equipment as specified in work instructions.
  • Performs all other duties as required, requested or needed.

Required Skills:
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree (Manufacturing Management preferred) with 2+ years of experience or a Master's degree without experience.  
  • 2+ years demonstrated ability to accurately determine root cause and solve complex problems
  • 2+ years of experience in supervision
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to teach/coach/mentor direct reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, bending, stooping and lifting for the majority of the day
  • Must lift or move objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to move around and visit all areas of the building
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Works in an area where temperature may fluctuate due to proximity to doors opening and closing in the Shipping and Receiving area.
  • Position may require long hours, including overtime, as needed.
