Director of National Housing Corporation Operations

Summary of Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities
The Director of National Housing Corporation Operations runs the day to day operations of National Housing Corporation in a manner that is consistent with the Volunteers of America Housing Principles. The Director ensures that National Housing Corporation operations are considered a standard for excellence within Volunteers of America and within the industry.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational performance of the National Housing Corporation portfolio including but not limited to resident centered operations, financial performance, compliance performance and capital performance.
  • Provides direct leadership for properties that have identified performance issues including stakeholder relationship issues.
  • Provides leadership and supervision for housing operations staff of National Housing Corporation.



Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree required with graduate degree preferred.
• At least 5 years’ related real estate experience development, operations, asset management, acquisitions and construction.
• Direct transactional experience and knowledge of affordable housing finance programs including Section 42 regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• MS Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Ability to work independently and keep flexible hours. Ability to travel is required, up to 20% of time.
