We are looking for a Entry Level Porter/Janitor to join our team at Lodges at Naylor Mills I Apartments in Salisbury, MD! 

~ This is a full time, 8:00am-5:00pm position.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Entry Level Porter/Janitor will maintain cleanliness throughout the inside and outside of the building.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Sweeping, mopping, wet-washing, shampooing and vacuuming floors and carpets in ancillary, service and common areas of the facility
2. Washing walls, ceilings and common area light fixtures
3. Gathering, transporting and disposing of trash
4. Cleaning waste receptacles
5. Maintaining utility closets in sanitary and orderly condition
6. Replenishing supplies at end of shift in preparation for next day’s use
7. Informing Supervisor of supply or equipment needs
8. Keeping storage areas locked and supplies properly stored
9. Keeping all germicides, pesticides and other toxic substances clearly labeled and locked away when not in use
10. Following established reporting procedures for the following:
a. Any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring or tiling requiring replacement or repair
b. Any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment
c. Any conditions conductive to breeding insects, rodents or other vermin
11. Performing other duties or special assignments as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Previous janitorial/cleaning experience
2. Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings and labels
3. Adequate strength, endurance and coordination to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as moving furniture, carrying trash and cleaning floors
4. Ability to meet the requirements identified in the attached “Assessment of Job Requirements”
