Job Description

We have an amazing opportunity to join the Volunteers of America Float Team! This is the ideal position for an experienced Registered Nurse who wants to set their own schedule and work in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area! We offer great wages ($30/ hour) and medical benefits to employees working 30+ hours per week through the Affordable Care Act.

As a member of our team, you determine when, where and how often you work at our Assisted Living and Rehabilitation campus located in Rochester!

The primary purpose of the Nurse is to utilize the nursing process in planning and providing direct care to residents as assigned. The nurse will plan, direct, and carry out shift routines in assigned unit and observe, direct, and evaluate the activities of personnel as the person "in charge" according to the Nurse Practice Act. 



  • Provides Leadership and Direction on Assigned Unit
  • Resident Care Functions
  • Charting, Documentation and Assessment Functions
  • Personnel Functions

Job Requirements


  • Current licensure in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current CPR Registration.
  • Maintenance of required CEU’s.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Good problem solver with abilities to make independent judgments utilizing initiative, discretion and the nursing process as needed.
  • Demonstrates leadership ability.
  • Must be a team player.
