Shipping / Logistics Manager
Roseburg, Oregon


The Shipping / Logistics Manager is an individual with a strong level of strategic vision and expertise in domestic and some international freight (Canada). This person will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations including purchasing, packaging, warehousing, shipping and receiving, inventory, transportation, and all supply chain processes. The shipping / Logistics Manager will be responsible for a team of 7 (seven) direct reports over 2 shifts including an offsite warehouse. This position requires having a skillset in logistic strategy, all aspects of purchasing and warehousing with truck freight, network design, and ongoing performance all while driving excellence within all areas of responsibility for supply chain, distribution and fulfillment operations. This position will develop key strategic initiatives and deliverables for all shipping and logistics responsibilities in support of VT’s Roseburg, Oregon Countertop manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
• Lead a team to drive cost reduction, service enhancements, and compliance in all supply chain processes including purchasing, warehousing, packaging, receiving inventory control, supply chain management and domestic and international transportation responsibilities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop new strategic solutions to improve the customer experience and provide more choices and conveniences related to supply chain issues and delivery for our distribution and fulfillment operations, including pick up locations, select delivery date, etc.
• Lead the development and achievement of comprehensive supply chain visibility dashboards.
• Develop a plan for profitable growth and performs profit forecasting and budgeting
• Create and execute strategies to improve business process productivity and reduce freight costs while improving service.
• Develop and utilize robust KPIs and drive supplier development related to delivery performance within transportation network and make improvements on vendor/supplier delivery performance.
• Identify and implement logistic processes and network changes impacting overall transportation services including but not limited to shipment consolidation, store delivery and direct to consumer, etc.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, carriers and influence in a collaborative manner while ensuring implementation of world-class processes
• Collaborate with key business partners, including but not limited to Accounting, IT, Human Resources, Operations, and leadership to streamline processes and implement optimized transportation network to align with distribution and fulfillment footprint changes.
• Responsible for timely deliveries of product at the lowest overall net cost achievable and POD.

 

 

Job Requirements

Key Qualifications


• 5 to 7+ years of hands on experience in leadership managing supply a chain / transportation team
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics
• Experience managing multisite transportation operations
• Experience in building / managing “made to order” shipments
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Strong presentation, communication and influencing competencies
• Analytical and financial fluency
• Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency
• Ability to travel at least 10%
