Job Description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for organizing a shift work unit involved with maintenance and repair of equipment. Administer routine and emergency repair and maintenance and servicing of components on mobile mining equipment.

 

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position has formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor routine maintenance mobile mining equipment. 
  • Coordinate activities for the crews and provide training as needed. 
  • Coordinate the availability of parts for maintenance projects. 
  • Identify and balance resource demands on workgroup; approve time cards. 
  • Communicate performance expectations to crew members and address any performance issues that can be improved. 
  • Ensure employees are in compliance with all company policies/procedures and safety regulations. 
  • Conduct daily tool box meetings and perform shop inspections at the beginning of each shift. 
  • Perform related tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Typical Physical Demands

Work in a safe manner at all times and be aware of environmental responsibilities both in an office and shop setting. This work requires the following physical activities: bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.

Typical Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

 

Education and Experience

  • Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Licenses, Registration, and Certifications

  • Possess appropriate State licenses / certificates applicable to the role.
