Job Description


Responsible to ensure all mine operations objectives are achieved in an economical, safe and environmentally responsible manner that meets the needs of both the customer and the Company. Ensure mine operations activities are carried out within company policy, customer needs, and the statutory requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mines and Environmental Regulations.


Plan, organize and communicate with the operations personnel to ensure optimum results that are in line with the production plan, established quality standards and are carried out in cost effective, safe and environmentally responsible manner within the statutory requirements of the Mine Regulations, Environmental Regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

  • Provide direction to Operations Supervisors to ensure operations and maintenance of all equipment are well coordinated to avoid unnecessary downtime and delay.
  • Establishes a positive employee and labor relations climate by conducting and participating in activities that contribute to an effective working relationship with all employees both non-union and union if applicable.
  • Promote teamwork at all levels of the operation. Through the communication, monitoring and revision of performance standards, ensures crew compliance to performance standards and legislation.
  • Continuous development and able to assume the duties and responsibilities of Mine Operations Manager as required.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities, as required, in response to changing circumstances and the physical and economic environment of the Mine and the Company.






Job Requirements


Mine Engineering background preferred, with at least 10 years of mining experience including supervisory experience. Other combinations of education, experience, and skills may be considered
