Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: This position is responsible for all aspects of the blasting program for assigned locations. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of ensuring safe and efficient blasting operations that conforms to all applicable Federal and State requirements.



  1. Track blast equipment/agents inventory and work with vendors to ensure delivery of appropriate stock
  2. Reviews drill patterns and diagrams, determines product and shot layout
  3. Communicates blast details with all personnel on job site and performs duties necessary to prepare and detonate shot.
  4. Conducts Pre/Post Shot Safety Audit at every shot service event.
  5. Completes necessary event /shot report documentation.
  6. Comply and observe with all company safety requirements.
  7. Ability to navigate busy mine traffic.
  8. Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to perform difficult physical work for extended periods of time. Lifting heavy objects, maneuvering through uncomfortable spaces and situations and enduring extreme temperatures can be common. Mine operations often go all day, and workers typically work in shifts. 



  1. Must have a valid Wyoming Blasters License
  2. 5 years experience as a shooter
  3. Willing to follow MSHA, Wyoming DEQ and ATF regulations as well as mine safety programs
  4. Experience with different explosive products, detonation systems and different timing a plus
