Summary Description:                                                                     

Supervise union personnel on rotating shifts while ensuring that the maintenance of the Absaloka Mine equipment complies with authorized practices and procedures, and maintenance requirements are accomplished in a safe and efficient manner. Administer an effective safety program conducting safety meetings as required. Monitor and inspect work areas to assure area is safe and in compliance with all MSHA and company safety rules and regulations, correcting all unsafe conditions. Responsible to coordinate maintenance activities with production operations ensuring that adequate scheduling needs for parts, materials and manpower to effectuate timely repair has been met. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:        

Supervise all personnel assigned to them on shift, including assignment of duties, evaluation of performance, training and recommendation for training. Administer activities to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and union bargaining unit agreement. Additionally, will coordinate and direct work activities to effectively implement maintenance plans, ensuring safe work behaviors and practices. Maintain records and ensure timely completion of scheduled maintenance and repair of mine equipment and facilities in order to maximize equipment availability. Analyze operational/maintenance requirements and adjust priorities as required. Communicate status of work activities as needed with department superintendent or other departments. Prepare or review reports as required to evaluate and document activities.     

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree; or the equivalent combination of work experience and related associates degree. Minimum of 5 years of mine equipment maintenance experience with 1 year of supervision or directing the work of others. Demonstrated knowledge of operation and maintenance functions. Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications, maintenance management software, and Microsoft standard office programs. Demonstrated knowledge of environmental and safety regulations. Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with other supervisors, professionals, representatives and departmental staff from within and outside the company. Must have experience in supervising employees.

Successful candidate must be able obtain a Surface Mine Foreman Certification.
