Job Description


We are looking for an experienced Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to manage all aspects of heavy mobile equipment maintenance. This is a fleet of equipment which includes drills, loaders, excavators, haulage - trucks, end dumps, dozers, water trucks, and graders and a range of support equipment typical of a surface mine.


Providing a safety and environmentally conscious environment; leading union personnel safety engagement; tracking safety and environmental compliance; Supervise union personnel on rotating shifts; Developing, supporting and coordinating maintenance personnel;

Ensuring equipment availability through effective and efficient scheduling of equipment maintenance and repair; Ensuring that tools and resources are readily available to personnel; Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and operations management; Opening and closing work orders; Ordering parts and equipment components; Scheduling preventive maintenance.

Monitoring, measuring, and adjusting processes to meet production requirements and quality expectations. Assist in setting up systems to implement preventive and predictive maintenance processes; Assist in development and implementation of an effective maintenance program for the Mobile Equipment Fleet; Monitor and help implement an effective program of mobile equipment, tire maintenance, and record-keeping; Monitor and maintain both short-term and long-term maintenance schedules starting with daily checks and extending to multi-year schedules.

Job Requirements


Associates degree in heavy equipment repair or diesel technology; or the equivalent combination of work experience and related associates degree. Minimum of 5 years of mine equipment maintenance experience with 1 year of supervision or directing the work of others.

Demonstrated knowledge of operation and maintenance functions. Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications, maintenance management software, and Microsoft standard office programs. Experience with EAM system or computer maintenance programs. Demonstrated knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.

 Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with other supervisors, professionals, representatives and departmental staff from within and outside the company. Must have experience in supervising employees.

Successful candidate must be able obtain a Surface Mine Foreman Certification.

Valid driver’s license required.
