Job Description


The Estimator is responsible for the oversight and management of the project cycle for restoration projects by providing direction and coordination to all members of the team including the project manager and team coordinator. 


• Use Xactimate software to estimate residential and commercial water, fire, wind and mold restoration projects, including the reconstruction
• Work with the PM on all budgeting of projects prior to any job starts
• Ensure constant communication is maintained with adjusters, customers, property managers and agents
• Responsible for on-going prospecting to create new business 
• Estimate the loss and reconstruction of the entire project  
• Respond to property damage emergency calls when required
• Negotiate restoration services and insurance claim settlements
• Handle all estimating inquiries for the team and demonstrate a high level of problem resolution and technical assistance
• Submit estimates in a timely matter determined by company requirements
• Establish and maintain client relationships as well as relationships as well as relationships with insurance adjusters and claim representatives
• Proper planning, scheduling, and management of the team to efficiently complete projects on-  time
• Work with the team to make sure that the schedule is complete, accurate and that work orders are prepared
• Lead daily morning meetings with staff
• Make sure that the PM has all technicians out the door in a timely manner in the mornings
• Review production tracking boards weekly
• Update all jobs in progress in weekly production meetings
• Partner with the PM and TC to ensure timely communication with clients 
• Develop relationships with clients and industry personnel 
• Documented files that support the work that is being accomplished
• Other related duties as assign


• 5+ years’ experience as an estimator, preferably in the restoration industry
• Possess a strong construction background and ability to communicate with Insurance Adjusters/Reps that have very little construction knowledge.
• Must have knowledge of both residential and commercial reconstruction experience.
• Xactimate proficiency is required
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills (detail oriented person).
• Ability to recognize and solve problems independently
• Strong communication both verbal and written
• Strong negotiation skills
• Possess self-motivation, responsibility and accountability
