Onin Staffing is seeking an experienced Welder 2 for a temp to hire position. This role is responsible for performing flat and horizontal welding tasks, operating equipment safely, and assembling high-quality products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform flat and horizontal welding tasks based on production needs.
• Operate handheld plasma cutters, grinders, flame cutting torches, and cranes.
• Utilize bridge cranes to position parts and assemblies efficiently.
• Fit up and assemble products with precision.
• Manage welding gas cylinders safely using a hand truck or dolly.
• Apply welding techniques including Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
• Support Machine Operators and Laborers as needed.

Work Environment & Safety:

• Exposure to various weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, and moisture.
• Work environment may be loud and physically demanding.
• Must follow safety protocols to minimize risks such as electrical shocks, welding fumes, crane operation hazards, and fire hazards.
• Required safety gear includes leather work gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and additional protective equipment.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED; or 2-3 years of welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operating instructions, and engineering drawings.
• Must meet required tolerances for welding.
• Proven ability to pass an AWS 1.1 welding test: Position 3G with E71-T1 electrode (GMAW Process).

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand, bend, and climb for extended periods.
• Able to operate equipment to lift steel parts weighing several thousand pounds.
• Capable of pushing, pulling, or dragging suction hoses weighing 10-100 lbs.
